No more boredom
You know, it's a little bit funny.... Actually it wasn't really all that funny. The last couple of weeks at work have been pretty quiet. Quiet enough to think I was even a little bit bored.
But, I can assure that yesterday I really, really, helped to save a life. Not just your ordinary, garden variety save-a-life... like make sure someone had enough to drink and eat. This was 'dial 999' kind of save a life emergency type thing. The kind of save-a-life that could easily have turned into 'Houston we have a REAL problem ' situation.
I have never witnessed a reaction to a medication quite like I did yesterday. Thankfully, I am well trained to deal with such things. So in what felt like an eternity, but was in fact just 5 short minutes our patient was nearly well again. It's amazing how quickly a shot of adrenaline can sort a person out.... And in the midst of it all, we were still able to offer a lovely cup of tea. (thank to the britishness of the situation, where a cup of tea makes everything better)
Then today... well that's another story. Let's just say, that I am not bored anymore. Today I didn't so much save a life, as possibly just change one. Either way, it's been an interesting week.

Mishy, was it the adrenaline or the cup of tea that saved your patients life??
Tea is pretty important, I can see where that could be an essential medication ;-)
