Random Delights

Holly: Sorry to hear your hamster died Bob... Bob: Window cleaners for British rail should watch out for flying man-eating deckchairs today, swimming in from the south along with the flea-ridden coathangers. The muffin man is responsible for the sudden outburst of rain yesterday as he forgot to pay the rent on his blue strawberries. I'm sorry, did you say you wanted a biscuit? Holly: Random! Custard cream please.

There's a funny thing about fear. It can take hold of your heart and keep you contained. God spoke very clearly to me this year. He told me in no uncertain terms that it is time to face the fear.

I have done lots of things so far this year that kept me on the edge of my seat. Attending dance classes again, after 12 years was one. It's the most incredibly encouraging thing to stand up and recognise that the reason you aren't doing something is that is just that little bit scary. So, even though I have quietly missed the last few lessons, I will be back . Back for more pushing myself to my limits. It's amazing how quickly you can slip into a comfort zone and stop stretching out for more and trying harder things.
I have started running too. Like proper running, in that you just keep going for miles... Well actually at this point it is just a few kilometres. But watch this space.... I am planning on running the London Marathon next year. By then I'll be a running guru.
There is lots of other scary stuff to face. Right now, it is just one day and one fear at a time. See you on the other side of fear -faith.
Psalm 46 v 1-2
God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear , even if earthquakes come and the mountain crumbles into the sea.
